Appeals Unit

Attorneys in the appeals unit represent clients in the Pennsylvania appellate courts. Appellate attorneys frequently assist trial staff with complex legal issues. Our appeals unit also organizes Delco Defender’s extensive training program. Appellate Chief Vanessa Bellino created and implemented Delco Defender’s in-depth two-week training program for our new attorneys and a year-round training program for experienced lawyers. In addition, the appeals unit coordinated statewide trainings for public defender across Pennsylvania in collaboration with the Public Defender Association of Pennsylvania.
